RTS investigates how decades of phosphate fertiliser use have contaminated soils and the food on our plates. France faces a cadmium reckoning, from heated clashes in parliament to alarm over children's exposure. "We can legitimately be worried", says ecotoxicologist Pierre-Marie Badot. We trace the toxic metal from phosphate fertilisers into everyday food. After decades of soil contamination, Badot's message is clear: "stop polluting, stop contaminating."
