Charlie the Australian Cobberdog - 3 Weeks Residential Dog Training

Charlie the 11 month old Cobberdog has gone back to his family after a 3 week residential training stay with us to get on top of his incessant counter surfing and stealing of pretty much anything! Charlie has made great progress with us and after a home handover showing his family how to manage his behaviour, they are all feeling a lot more confident to continue with his training journey. We taught Charlie a solid ‘drop’ command which his family can use to play fetch with him and for when he does steal any items. We worked on a settle on bed cue so when the family are eating, cooking or relaxing they can ask Charlie to lie on his bed. This way he isn’t getting himself into any mischief! Over time his habit of stealing will fade now that his family have the correct tools to help manage and work on his stealing behaviour. In addition to this we worked on Charlie’s engagement with his owners on walks, previously he wouldn’t listen and would be off doing his own thing.
