Wreck XX (Intact 19th Century Lake Sloop) - Lake Champlain

Early 19th-century intact lake sloop. The only known example in Lake Champlain as far as I know. The museum refers to it as Wreck XX in their report. It was discovered in 2000 during the sidescan sonar phase of the Lake Champlain Lake Survey conducted by the LCCM. The wreck lies in the northern part of the lake on the New York side. It is an incredible time capsule. The railings are still intact, along with the bowsprit, a large folding-stock anchor still sitting on the bow, and the original wooden windlass. The museum described it as “one of the most well-preserved and significant shipwrecks in Lake Champlain.”
