Agri Welfare Portal Upgraded: One Digital Platform for Farmers’ Schemes & Services The Government of India has launched the upgraded Agri Welfare Portal to make agricultural schemes, financial assistance and reliable farming information more accessible to farmers through their mobile phones. Launched on 19 October 2026 by Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the initiative supports the vision of Digital India and aims to reduce procedural hurdles, unnecessary office visits and dependence on intermediaries. 🔑 Key Features & Benefits ✅ Single-window access: Information on agricultural schemes, subsidies, rules and digital services through one common platform. ✅ Integration with major schemes: Access to information and services relating to PM-KISAN, AgriStack and Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY). ✅ Simplified online services: Online eligibility checks, application facilities and DBT-based financial assistance to promote transparency and reduce intermediaries. ✅ Agricultural information: Access to authentic information on weather, scientific farming practices, seed and fertiliser availability, and prevailing market prices. ✅ Mobile-friendly platform: Designed for basic smartphones and users in rural areas with limited internet connectivity. ✅ Inclusive digital access: Accessibility features, including screen-reader support and simplified navigation, for persons with disabilities. ✅ Farmer capacity building: Training through Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) to help farmers understand and effectively use the portal and other digital tools. 🎯 Why Does It Matter? The upgraded portal aims to move agricultural governance towards a farmer-centric, transparent and digitally accessible service-delivery system. By bringing farmers, FPOs, PACS, agricultural scientists, researchers and startups onto a common digital platform, it can strengthen information access and coordination across the agricultural ecosystem.
