The Holy Name of God Leviticus 24:10-23 | Sunday 20th September 2026 Rev. Rob Childs

Title: The Holy Name of God Speaker: Rob Childs Series: Leviticus Date: September 20, 2026 Bible: Leviticus 24:10-23 This sermon explores the theological significance of God's name through the narrative of the blasphemer in Leviticus 24, arguing that the divine name is not merely a label but the self-revelation of God's character and covenant faithfulness. It contrasts the severe Old Testament judgment for profaning this name with the New Testament revelation of grace, where Jesus Christ bears the ultimate curse of the law to redeem believers. The message emphasises that while God's justice demands a price for sin, His mercy offers salvation through the name of Jesus, which is above every other name. Listeners are challenged to reflect this holiness in their own lives by bearing the name of Christ with reverence, integrity, and worship, rather than using it carelessly or falsely. The sermon concludes with a call to trust in God's mercy today while remaining aware of the coming day of judgment. https://www.sermonaudio.com/sermons/9...
