Dive - Short Film by Tilly Bell & James Hiscutt

A sequel to our previous short film ‘chain’. Dive premiered at Dendy Cinemas Canberra on the 22nd of February 2025 to 162 wonderful people. SYNOPSIS When you want to move forward in life but don't know what path to take, who do you turn to? Dive is a coming of age drama that follows Tyde, living a seemingly picture perfect life after graduating her nursing degree in Canberra. Tyde yearns to escape the distress of caring for her functioning addict sister. A consistent point of comfort and Tydes closest childhood friend Kyron, has slowly stopped returning her calls. Kyrons the constantly alluring & always smiling surf photographer who escaped his troubled hometown life four years earlier with Tydes help. By chance Tyde and Kyron reconnect as Tyde searches for tranquility away from home, down the beaches of the south coast. They rediscover what their lifelong friendship means as Kyron supports Tyde. She battles the feelings of guilt for leaving her mum and sister behind, whilst finding respite by the ocean. Kyron and Tyde both try to slow down and get back to their roots of enjoying their surroundings, before deciding their next steps in life. Like our first film ‘chain’, this is a story depicting the power that having one supportive person in your corner can hold. Whoever that person is, they can inspire you to change the course of your life, and live out your dreams as a young adult. Dive is a love letter in film format, to those trying to navigate the difficulties and beauty of life as young adults in Australia. Thank you for watching!
