What they found was one of the worst farm cruelty cases they'd ever seen—10 pigs living in deep mud, surrounded by filth, without food or clean water. The pigs had been left behind after a fire destroyed the mobile home on the property. With the help of Deputy Constable Christine Kendrick, the SPCA team secured a seizure warrant and began the difficult task of removing the pigs, some of which had never even left their pen. Back at the shelter, the pigs received medical care and a chance to recover. Among them was Boris, a massive boar who needed surgery before adoption.
