Four Thousand Weeks - Time Management for Mortals

Four Thousand Weeks – Time Management for Mortals, a N.Y. Times bestseller by Oliver Burkeman, came out in 2021. While Burkeman is not a contractor, he was enamored of the same beliefs and behaviors common in our industry. He thought that if he just could find the right system, the right attitude towards work, he would be able to be ever more productive and conquer the universal perception that there just isn’t enough time in the day to get it all accomplished. His frustration with the time management conventional wisdom caused him to propose a dramatically different approach. Please tune in this week for a rather lengthy exploration of Burkeman’s excellent book. In a manner of speaking, he has produced the first anti-time management work. What do you think? Are Wayne and Burkeman all wet? Is there a better way for contractors to be productive and simultaneously well-rounded? Please share your views with us at wrivers@performanceconstruction.com.
