If something is false, can it still be real?

If something is false, can it still be real? They say we’re rowing our boats down the stream within this dream. If like the movie incepted where you’re able to be inside of a dream within a dream, is it real? Everyone involved, but the target without a doubt knows it’s fake, but it’s been handed to the target as a reality, is it? I think whatever reality is presented to us is real, whether it be manipulated or not.
