This is a short video of our expedition to Kyrgyzstan. We started the trip with an unexpected change in our flight out of Denver, had to add a flight to Dallas due to a cancellation of our original Turkish Air flight. Once we landed in the capitol of Kyrgyzstan (Bishkek) we were able to spend some time exploring the city and take care of our jet lag, found Bishkek to be a beautiful city with welcoming people. On July 4, we started our trip, leaving the city and driving south east Song Kul lake, our first camping stop, remote area & very picturesque! From there we continued south east thrugh several mountain ranges and spent the majority of our time in some very remote areas photographing the landscape, local people & some wild life. We were fortunate to be transported by a Russian MI-8 helicopter to Camp Khun Tengri which is the base camp for all the mountain climbers who are attempting to summit Khan Tengri at 22,999' (also known as Lord of the skies). The other peak which climbers attempt to summit is Jengish Chokusu (Peak Pobeda) which is an elevation of 24,406', more difficult to climb & more climbers lives are lost. Our trip ended back in Bishkek & we were able to spend another day enjoying the city & the people before we had to depart. Kyrgyzstan was a GREAT TRIP!
