Indiana Dunes State Park Beach and Campground Review

Indiana Dunes State Park beach and campground review. This stop on our summer adventure brings us to Indiana Dunes State Park. We take you to the beach, give you a campground review and take you on a few hikes. We take you on the " 3 Dune Challenge" a loop hike up 3 great dunes, MT. Jackson, Mt. Holden, Mt. Tom. The views from the dunes were spectacular but we soon learned why "Trail 9" was voted the best hike in Indiana by USA Today. Trail 9 takes a bit of work but the views of Lake Michigan from the dune tops is breathtaking. We encountered a storm on our hike and when we returned to the starting point our access was blocked by a huge tree that had gone over during the storm. Luckily, no one was injured but it did cause a trail closure for safety reasons. We also explored the National Park that surrounds the State Park and enjoyed a Ranger lead S'mores roasting YUMMY!! This is a great campground and 2 park system that we will be returning to in the future.
