Nantucket Whalers Football vs. Dennis-Yarmouth Dolphins - October 15, 2026

Nantucket Sports Connection brings you Varsity High School Football as the Whalers welcome the Dolphins from the Lower Cape. These two teams have flipped their respective scripts this season, as a rejuvenated lineup has seen the Dolphins (4-1, #8 in Division 6) on an unbeaten tear with three league wins so far with three to go. They are coming off a 23-14 road win over Sandwich last Friday. A win today will all but secure a Cape & Islands League title for D-Y, taking it away from the Whalers, who've gone from an unbeaten regular season in 2025 to a 1-3 record and a #24 ranking in the same division this year. Only a string of lopsided wins today, next week on the road at Sandwich and back home for the Island Cup on Halloween would give Nantucket any mathematical chance at qualifying for the MIAA tournament. In the highest scoring affair of last season, the Whalers prevailed 49-22 over Dennis-Yarmouth 364 days ago in a sloppy game for both squads. The Dolphins still hold a 3-2 advantage in head-to-head competition with a combined score of 129-83. The Dolphins finished 3-8 last year, a far cry from their 8-3 season in 2024 that saw them enter the Div. 6 tourney as the #11 seed. Our live coverage begins at 4:45 with kickoff set for 5:15pm from Vito Capizzo Stadium, coming to you live both on the NSC YouTube channel as well as on NCTV HD Channel 1072. [This game was originally scheduled for October 16, but was moved due to weather.]
