2 Nights on California’s Remote Island | No Hotels, No Restaurants

I traveled from Ventura Harbor to Santa Cruz Island, part of Channel Islands National Park, for a two-night camping trip. The journey began with a ferry ride across the Pacific, followed by a ranger orientation after arriving on the island. During the stay, I saw an island fox being cared for by a ranger, camped at a site with only water and restrooms, hiked more than 8 miles round trip to Smugglers Cove, and explored the island’s unforgettable sea caves by kayak.
