October 2, 1984. Brighton, England. At the luxurious Grand Hotel, the British political elite has gathered — 150 people, including Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. After an evening reception, everyone heads back to their rooms. At 2:54 a.m., a massive explosion rips through the building. The hotel collapses into rubble. Five people are killed, dozens injured. But the terrorists’ main target somehow survives — and promises revenge.
The Irish Republican Army claims responsibility. For more than a century, the IRA has fought for Ireland’s independence from Great Britain. But who are they really — terrorists or freedom fighters?
