This presentation is part of the 2026 State of the Science Summit, a three-day conference bringing together leading researchers, industry experts, policymakers, and producers to explore the latest science and innovations advancing sustainable animal agriculture.
The 2026 State of the Science Summit was hosted by the UC Davis CLEAR Center, SPARK Climate Solutions, the UC Davis College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, and the California Department of Food and Agriculture, with support from Global Methane Hub and PACT (Platform for Agriculture and Climate Transformation).
Animal Health & Productivity, and Methane Mitigation Pathways features presentations from:
Dr. Andrew Bisson – Spark Climate Solutions
Dr. Seyda Ozkan – Livestock Climate Solutions
Dr. Ermias Kebreab – Associate Dean of Global Engagement and Professor of Animal Science, University of California, Davis
Dr. Aimable Uwizeye – Livestock Sustainability Expert, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO)
Together, these experts examine the critical relationship between animal health, productivity, and greenhouse gas mitigation. Their presentations explore how improving animal health, nutrition, management, and production efficiency can reduce methane emissions while enhancing animal welfare, farm resilience, and the sustainability of livestock systems around the world.
