Sea Kayaking Nova Scotia Part 3: Our Nova Scotia Tour 2025 ... continues in this final part3 episode. Today we travel to West Dover South West of Halifax. Launching from the small beach next to Shaws Landing, we paddle South to the point heading West, passing Simmons and Dover Islands. From there we continue along the coast past the entrance to Polly Cove, Basin Rock and on to the headland of Peggy's Cove. Lunch and a drone flight before launching and retracing our route back to West Dover. Blue skies but stronger winds and an active sea, produced some bigger conditions, particularly off Peggy's Cove headland on our return. It was at this Point the "Olivia Margaret" boat skipper of Peggy's Cove Boat Tours created a serious risk to life incident!! As he decided to pass straight through our group, very close to 2 of our paddlers with little margin for error. Given the conditions this action completely unnerved them and could have resulted in a capsize where a rescue, so close to breaking waves crashing onto the headland could have resulted in serious injury. Once safely around the headland we regrouped to continue our return journey without further incident. Despite the Peggy's Boat tour incident we all had an incredible time especially for me as my last Sea Kayaking Trip in Nova Scotia ... what a fantastic tour this had been !!
