Part 4 of restoring my 1960 Chevrolet Corvair 700, and we’re finally making some more progress! This time I finally got around to pressure washing the entire car, getting years of dirt and grime off the exterior and giving it a much-needed cleaning. After that, I started doing a little more work on the front trunk (frunk), using a wire brush to clean up some of the rusty areas. Nothing too crazy yet, but it’s a start. I also got back into the interior and started removing some of the old DIY floor repairs that previous owners had installed. I removed the lower right floor plate and the front DIY floor pans, exposing more of the original floor underneath so I can get a better idea of what I’m dealing with. As I’ve mentioned in the previous episodes, the rust is definitely one of the biggest problems with this car. There’s a lot of metalwork ahead, and I’m eventually going to have to learn how to weld and properly repair these floors. For now, I’m just continuing to take things apart, clean everything up, and figure out exactly what needs to be done. Still a long way from getting this thing back on the road, but we’re making progress one day at a time. 1960 Chevy Corvair Restoration | Part 4 TikTok: @chrisofnh Instagram: @stevensofnh #ChevyCorvair #ChevroletCorvair #1960Corvair #Corvair700 #CorvairRestoration #ProjectCar #ClassicCar #CarRestoration #RustRepair #PressureWashing #ClassicChevy #ChrisOfNH
