How to Calculate Missing DOPE Between Distances | Long Range Shooting Tips

Missing DOPE at the distance you need? Don't guess. In this video, I’m showing you a simple way to calculate estimated DOPE between two known distances when your DOPE card doesn’t have the exact distance you need. For example, if you have confirmed DOPE at 500 yards and 700 yards, but your target is at 600 yards, you can use a simple mathematical calculation to estimate the correction for that distance. In this video we’ll cover: • How to calculate DOPE between known distances • How to estimate missing DOPE • A simple interpolation formula you can use in the field • How to apply the calculation to your DOPE card • Why calculated DOPE is an estimate and should be verified with actual impacts Quick Formula in order to get 600yds DOPE⬇️ 5.3-3.1=2.2MILs 700yds-500yds=200yds 100yds÷200yds=0.5 2.2×0.5=1.1MILs 3.1+1.1=4.2MILs for 600yds Insert your DOPE in place of these numbers as described in video to get the estimated DOPE for your distance. Example: 500 YDS — 3.1 MIL 600 YDS — ??? 700 YDS — 5.3 MIL The goal isn't to replace confirmed DOPE. It's to give you a reasonable starting point when you're dealing with a distance that isn't already on your chart.
