2019 Porsche Cayenne S: BMS LiFePO4 Lithium battery location, replacement, & registration on a 9YA

The Porsche LiFePO4 costs about $2,200.00 msrp, can be found for around $1,800.00, but unscrupulous dealers and service centers have been charging $1,000 to $3,000 for installation and registration by instilling fear into owners that don't know the battery location and how to remove it and register it. In addition, Porsche Cayenne LiFePO4 batteries have been damage by defects in the Porsche BMS charging system, which overcharges the batteries and cause them to fail. Some failed batteries can be brought back to life by Porsche accessing the battery controller /sensor and programmatically closing the opened relay making the battery have voltage again at the battery terminals. The overcharging may cause the battery controller/sensor flag the overcharged battery as irreversibly unusable, which will require the battery controller/sensor to be changed and reprogrammed at a cost of around $500, if the battery cells are still good. These Porsche LiFePO4 Lithium batteries were supposed to last around 10 years, but they are failing sometimes in less than 2 years. Porsche dealers have been charging owners between $3,200 to $5,000 to replace the batteries and register them, but as one can see in the TSB's and other people experiences, the batteries did not needed to be exchanged, and/or were able to be repaired.. And further, there is no reason for any dealer or service place to charge $1,000+ for labor and registering the battery, Some owners have to wait weeks to months to get these Lithium LiFePO4 batteries in stock at the dealers, and many times have to pay for their own transportation while their vehicle is at the dealer for repairs.
