NWVRT Visit to St Helens Bus Depot | Stagecoach Merseyside Metro | 10th October 2026

Join me at St Helens Bus Depot in Merseyside on Saturday 10th October 2026 for a special visit by members of the North West Vehicle Restoration Trust (NWVRT) to the Stagecoach-operated Merseyside Metro depot at Jackson Street. The visit provides an opportunity to see a selection of preserved buses from the North West Vehicle Restoration Trust alongside the modern fleet of buses now operating from St Helens under the new Liverpool City Region franchised network. Just over a month after the historic overnight changeover from Arriva to Stagecoach on 5th–6th September, the depot provides a particularly interesting setting for this gathering, bringing together vehicles representing different generations of public transport in Merseyside. Throughout the video, we capture the preserved buses arriving at St Helens depot, along with views of the vehicles gathered during the visit before they prepare to continue their journey. We also see the convoy departing from the depot, providing another opportunity to enjoy the sights and sounds of these historic buses out on the road. The visit is part of the celebrations marking 125 years of buses on Merseyside, recognising the region's rich public transport heritage and the important work undertaken by preservation groups such as the NWVRT to keep that history alive. With historic buses visiting a depot now entering a new chapter under Merseyside Metro, this was a fitting opportunity to celebrate both the past and present of the region's bus industry.
