If solar radiation is incident on a tilted solar module, we can distinguish between three main types of radiation: The direct radiation coming from the direction of the sun, the diffuse radiation coming from all directions, and the radiation reflected from the ground. The optimal tilt angle of a solar module depends largely on the proportion of direct radiation in the global radiation.
