Gold prices: Is it the right time to buy? Economist Prabhakar interview | The Federal

Gold prices have witnessed sharp fluctuations in 2026, leaving investors wondering whether this is the right time to buy, sell or hold gold. Ahead of Diwali, economist Prabhakar explains the key factors driving gold prices and what individual investors should consider before investing. In this interview with The Federal, Prabhakar discusses the impact of the US dollar, American interest rates, global uncertainty and the falling Indian rupee on gold prices. He also shares his outlook for gold over the next two to three years. The conversation explores whether gold prices could double by 2029, why investors should consider Gold Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) over jewellery, how much gold should be part of an investment portfolio, and why Sovereign Gold Bonds are no longer available. #GoldPrices #GoldInvestment #GoldPrice2026 #GoldMarket #GoldETF #SovereignGoldBonds #GoldInvestmentStrategy #Diwali #GoldRate #USDollar #InterestRates #IndianRupee #InvestmentPortfolio #Prabhakar #PersonalFinance #InvestmentTips #IndianEconomy #TheFederal --- ▶For the latest news and analysis - https://thefederal.com/  ▶RSS Feed - https://thefederal.com/google_feeds.xml ▶For more explainers, and interesting videos - https://thefederal.com/category/videos ▶To watch The Federal's shows listed together for your easy access, click here:    • The Federal Programmes   Follow The Federal News here - ▶Website: https://thefederal.com/ ▶Facebook:   / thefederal.india   ▶X: https://x.com/TheFederal_News ▶Instagram:   / thefederal_india   ▶LinkedIn:   / thefederal   ▶Whatsapp channel: https://www.whatsapp.com/channel/0029... ▶Threads: TheFederal India (@thefederal_india) ▶Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3fy3utP...
