Sabaton - Poltava (Slowed and Reverb) (Anti-Nightcore/Daycore)

A few centuries ago, Sweden used to be a pretty powerful country that held great influence over Northern Europe and the Baltic Sea, even managing to engage in a bit of colonialism in places like the Delaware river with lasting settlements (along with an introduction of the log house building technique that some people think is an American building technique). But as with most other empires, it was not to last, especially after the war with Russia turned out badly. While at first they had some success in battles before (like Narva), their luck would run out at the Battle of Poltava, where they, along with some defecting Cossacks under Ivan Mazepa, would lose against the Russian army supported by Cossacks and Kalmyks (and helped by the brutally cold weather that crippled the Swedes earlier in January), with the end result being that Russia would later on take Sweden's position as the dominant Baltic power, and Ukraine commemorating the place where this battle occurred in 2009. (Since I mentioned Narva, this song was originally going to sing about that battle, but the band didn't want for the Carolux Rex album to be full of praises for the Swedish Empire, and thus decided to show some negatives as well)
