22/08/26 Beat The Makers: Open Styles - at Watershed Bristol Winner: Cinnamon Sticks Beatmaker for the battle: • Ted Tonic @tedtonic_ Hosts: • Nonso AKA The General (@nonso.general) • Jaheem (@jimz.pinder) About Beat the Makers: This event has been the second attempt of the concept in Bristol, organised by the Breaking and Beatmakers Communities. It consisted on a double knock-out system in which the beatmakers voted for the dancers during battles, and the dancers scored the beatmakers who were playing. This were All Style Battles. The intention of the jam was to create an inclusive meeting point between music creators and dancers from different styles, encouraging artistic exchange, collaboration and dialogue across Bristol's wider performing arts community. This was also to gather the views, experiences, challenges and ambitions of Bristol's creative sector and use those conversations to help shape Bristol's new Culture Strategy. This event was Funded by Bristol City Council Artist Conversations Programme.
