Chanting of the Lord's names in a musical form is known as Bhajan Nama Sankeerthanam. It is common belief that by uttering the Lord's names one's sins accumulated over various births get neutralised. It purifies and strengthens you and takes you into a meditative state. T.N.Seshagopalan is a Carnatic musician and composer who has travelled the world singing in many festivals. In 1987 he was India's cultural ambassador to Russia. He sings both South and North Indian ragas and has participated in several jugalbandhis.
