Written by Garry Bonner and Alan Gordon Happy Together was the Turtles only song to go to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song had been offered to a number of other groups who all turned it down. It is said that the quality of Bonner's and Gordon's demo was terrible and may have contributed to the song's rejection by the other artists.
