Pick your colors—I chose blue, turquoise, and violet. Cut the clay into small pieces and mix them together. Once you like the blend, add alcohol ink in a contrasting color (I used white, since translucent clay darkens when baked). TIP: Bake a small test piece first—translucent clay often changes color in the oven. Wearing gloves, coat the pieces evenly with ink. After it dries, I added some gold foil for a bit of sparkle. Mix again, then press the pieces into a block so they stick together. Slice the block and arrange the slices into a slab. I used depth guides to roll it out since the mix was too soft for the pasta machine. Once it’s the right thickness, cut your shapes and bake. I turned mine into organic, asymmetrical statement earrings! #polymerclay #polymerclaytutorial #polymerclaytechniques #polymerclayslab #polymerclayart
