Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary, Idukki district This sanctuary is one of the best sanctuaries I have been to in terms of flora and fauna. It’s underrated and definitely needs more attention. Travel Took a train from Chennai to Udumalpet. You can find this sanctuary in between Udumalpet and Munnar. General pov This is a diverse land of deciduous forest, highlands, and grassland. One can spot herds of gaur and elephant herds while trekking and the probability are high compared to the other sanctuaries I have been to. Stay There are log houses and dorms available. You can check them out in the link attached below. I stayed there for a night, but wouldn’t really prefer going back there for the stay. Trekking is lovely though. On reaching the Chinnar wildlife sanctuary check post, there is the reception area where you check in and you will be taken to your room with one of their own. The stay package included tea, dinner (which will be brought to your room), and breakfast ( at the reception) I did spot gaurs and elephants on my trek. Was one of the most thrilling treks that I have done so far. Do watch the video and let me know how you like it in the comments! Ping me for more details if you have any doubts :)   / ashlesstray   https://www.munnarwildlife.com/
