Episode # 5315 HOTEL IRRITANT Original airdate: 12/27/53 This charming romantic comedy stars Loretta Young as a hotel detective sent to cause trouble in a New Orleans hotel during Carnival. George Nader plays the hotel manager, Newton Ralston, who has never had a guest quite like Sally Webster (Loretta Young) in his small hotel in the French Quarter of New Orleans. She seems to test every facet of his managerial skills, until something tells him she is no ordinary guest. The story takes an unusual twist as Newton makes a decision about whether or not the customer is always right. Both George Nader and Frances Bavier (who appears briefly in this episode) made semi-frequent appearances during the early season of The Loretta Young Show. Nader appeared in a variety of feature films from 1950 through 1974, and is perhaps best-remembered for his role in the low-budget 3-D sci-fi film Robot Monster in 1953. Stricken by multiple medical problems, Nader entered the hospital in September of 2001. He died at Woodland Hills, California, February 4, 2002. Frances Bavier is best known for her long-running character, Aunt Bee, on The Andy Griffith Show. After retiring from show business in 1972, Bavier lived a sparse and quiet life in North Carolina. She died on at home on December 6, 1989, eight days before her 87th birthday. Directed by Robert Florey Screenplay by Richard Morris from a story by Phyllis Parker & Henry Staudigl Cast: Loretta Young George Nader Frances Bavier (Aunt Bee on The Andy Griffith Show)
