Why Americans Can't Agree On America

Americans can't agree on America. But what if they're all telling the truth? After making a video about American friendliness and why Americans talk to strangers, I started reading the comments. What I discovered was fascinating. Americans from different parts of the country were describing completely different experiences of American life. As an Australian living in Tennessee, I've learned that understanding America isn't nearly as straightforward as I once thought. From New York to small-town America, we're exploring regional differences, American friendliness, community, and why something perfectly normal in one part of the United States can seem completely foreign somewhere else. There are contradictory stories, a few laughs, and a surprisingly thoughtful lesson about what makes America America. Perhaps Americans aren't disagreeing as much as it seems.
