For a few years in the early 2000s, Priest Holmes was putting up numbers that barely look real. From 2001–03, he piled up 6,566 yards from scrimmage, 61 touchdowns, and three straight First-Team All-Pro selections. Then from 2002–04, he scored 66 touchdowns in just 38 games — including a then-NFL-record 27 rushing touchdowns in 2003. So why isn’t Priest Holmes mentioned more often with the great running backs of his era?
