In this video, I begin a comprehensive 5-part series on replacing the clutch and dual-mass flywheel (DMF) on a Honda Civic 9th Generation (2012-2017) with the 2.2 i-DTEC (150HP) engine. Part 1 covers the essential teardown and component removal. ⚠️ CRITICAL PARTS ADVICE: For this repair, I am using the Exedy HCK2072DMF Clutch & Flywheel Kit. This is the Original Equipment (OEM) part used by Honda from the factory. Be extremely careful: many generic parts catalogs list flywheels that WILL NOT FIT this N22B4 engine. I highly recommend verifying the OEM part number via your VIN before ordering to avoid fitment issues. What is covered in PART 1: How to safely remove the battery and battery tray. Removing the engine undertray (bottom cover). How to remove the driveshaft/axle on a 9th Gen Civic. How to replace an outer tie rod end.
