The SunSpec IEEE 2030.5 CSIP Test Procedures Work Group met on September 24, 2026, to provide an update on the continued development of the SunSpec CSIP Conformance Test Procedures and preparations for the release of version 1.4 (TEST Version) for public review.
Led by Work Group Chair Steve Kang of QualityLogic, the meeting reviews the effort to strengthen conformance and interoperability testing based on years of industry implementation and deployment experience. Discussion covers expanded IEEE 1547 test coverage, continuous testing capabilities, additional negative and corner-case scenarios, long-event testing, mandatory requirements, and supplemental test cases informed by California utility use cases.
The meeting also discusses the broader roadmap for SunSpec's IEEE 2030.5 testing and certification activities, including the SAE J3072 Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) profile. Following completion and approval of the J3072 profile, the Work Group is expected to begin development of corresponding V2G test procedures.
The SunSpec CSIP Test Procedures Work Group brings together utilities, OEMs, test tool providers, and other industry stakeholders to develop and refine test procedures supporting consistent implementation, conformance, and interoperability across IEEE 2030.5/CSIP deployments.
