Guys from Sumo Digital were apparently at Comic-Con in San Diego to show off more about Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, most notably that Wreck-It Ralph will be in the game. (Now that The Dark Knight Returns is out in theaters, Wreck-It Ralph is the movie of 2012 I'm looking most forward to. There seems to be some animosity between gamers and Hollywood people, so it'll be interesting to see how it's received as a major Hollywood production about video games.)
In any case, do you remember the list of issues Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing had? If not, you can check out the video here:
• SSASR - Issues to Fix in the Sequel - May ...
The following issues have been fixed:
7. RACE DOESN'T STOP IF HOST QUITS. In Transformed, if the host of the room disconnects, another player will be chosen as the new host and, as long as at least 2 players are still present, the race will go on.
11. BLUE SHELL EQUIVALENT. While they didn't explain what this item is or what it does, they have confirmed at Comic-Con that they have a new item that automatically seeks out the player in the lead.
Race #1
Shibuya Downtown
Ulala
Song: Sneakman (Toronto Mix)
Ulala seems to be in high demand, presumably because in this game, she's the only female who's the main character of her own series. (That might change with Transformed, however--I hope they bring in some of the characters lesser known to westernets, like Gemini Sunrise.) This race shows you just how bad a Blue Shell equivalent is needed: Watch the other human player, who's using Shadow, sink further and further behind as the race goes on, with nothing able to stop me.
Race #2
Rampart Road
Zobiko & Zobio
Song: Tumbling Xylophone
The AI in this game is kind of weird. There's a strong anti-rubberband effect where they let you pass in front of them if you're behind, and they get caught in anything you fire at them. This is true regardless of if they're on Easy or on Hard. (They're on Easy here; I keep them that way when I'm hosting a room as I've discovered that putting them on Hard or even Medium is too much for many of my human adversaries.)
Race #3
Jump Parade
Mobo & Robo Bonanza
Song; Bum Bum
You may be wondering how I can fit a race this late into the video. Unless you've figured out what happened by now.
