JOE “FERRARI” LINKS CAT MATLALA, KATISO MOLEFE TO FEARS OF AN ATTACK

“The game is up.” Joe “Ferrari” Sibanyoni has delivered explosive testimony before the Madlanga Commission, bringing Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala and Katiso Molefe into his account of the period when he says he feared another attack on his life. Sibanyoni alleged that after his relationship with the late Mr Msibi deteriorated, Msibi strengthened his security and surrounded himself with individuals associated with what Sibanyoni described as izinkabi. Asked about the significance of Matlala and Molefe appearing in that environment, Sibanyoni told the Commission that he believed circumstances pointed to “a proper plan to attack me”. The Commission repeatedly challenged Sibanyoni to explain the basis for his conclusions. Sibanyoni also faced tough questioning over an allegation concerning alleged drug-related activities at Msibi’s farm. He acknowledged that he was not physically present during the relevant period and that some of his information came from other people. The claims remain allegations contained in Sibanyoni’s testimony and have not been established as findings by the Madlanga Commission.
