Does retiring at the Jersey Shore still make sense for people in New York and Philadelphia? In Episode 1 of Jersey Shore Happenings, Daniel Rallo answers two questions that retirees and second-home buyers are asking right now: Is now the time to buy if you live in New York or Philadelphia and plan to retire soon? Should the new New York City casino projects change how you think about the South Jersey Shore's long-term value as a retirement location? Why the casino question matters New York approved three downstate casino licenses in December 2025: Bally's Bronx, Hard Rock Metropolitan Park in Queens, and Resorts World New York City. Resorts World is already operating and expanding. The other two are still being built, and both have estimated openings around 2030. Atlantic City officials have warned the new competition could cost the city a meaningful share of casino revenue. An industry-backed analysis estimates the region could lose 5,100 jobs by 2035 in a baseline scenario. Atlantic City casino revenue also rose 7.1% year over year in July 2026, so the picture is mixed. 📍 Daniel Rallo | South Jersey Shore Real Estate 📲 609-338-7364 or 📩 Daniel@danielrallo.com
