In this tutorial, we create a fully parametric isolated footing family in Autodesk Revit, including column and PCC layer, suitable for LOD 200 to LOD 300 BIM workflows. This step-by-step tutorial covers the complete process of building a parametric structural footing family, controlling dimensions using parameters, locking geometry with reference planes, and making the family flexible for real project use. We also cover how to convert Type parameters to Instance parameters, allowing each footing to be controlled individually in the project. Additionally, the video demonstrates: Creating reference planes Adding dimensional parameters Creating extrusion geometry Aligning and locking elements Creating column and PCC layers Assigning subcategories Adding material parameters Preparing the family for real project workflows This family can be used efficiently for structural modeling up to LOD 300 stage, helping improve modeling speed and consistency in BIM projects. In an upcoming video, we will also cover Material Take-Off (MTO) and Schedule of Quantities (SOQ) using properly assigned materials.
