🌊 POCHARAM | DAM | RESERVOIR | Medak | Hidden gem

Pocharam Dam and Reservoir, located near Medak, was built across the Allair stream during the Nizam’s reign between 1917 and 1922. It was designed to provide irrigation and drinking water to nearby villages. The reservoir, surrounded by hills and forests, covers a vast scenic area. It originally stored about 2.4 TMC of water, irrigating over 10,000 acres. Adjacent to it lies the Pocharam Wildlife Sanctuary, rich in flora and fauna. An old Inspection Bungalow near the dam adds a touch of heritage. Today, Pocharam stands as both a vital water source and a tranquil getaway.
