SOLO Camping in CROATAN National Forest

Croatan National Forest is one of the only coastal forests in the eastern United States. As a Florida boy, the Croatan is an excellent place for me to escape from my 9-to-5, and practice my bushcraft skills. The terrain is strikingly similar to the Florida woodlands I grew up in. During my solo backpacking and camping trip to the Croatan, I visited several different territories in search of the perfect place for me to unwind, to pray, and to formally commit myself to the pursuit of a meaningful life. After spending hours tromping through swampland, marshes, and shoreline, I think I found exactly what I was looking for...
