Sansui-ji (Mountains and Waters) Zen Temple

Founded in 1991, Red Cedar Zen Community is a cooperative group of Zen students practicing together in the lineage of Shunryu Suzuki Roshi, author of Zen Mind, Beginner’s Mind. After 34 years of practicing in community members' living rooms, rented rooms, buildings and church basements, on August 30, 2025 Sansui-ji (Mountains and Waters) Zen Temple was officially opened in Bellingham, WA. This video follows the historic journey of the sangha, and honors its members and teachers who brought this dream to fruition. May we all awaken Buddha's compassion and luminous mirror wisdom for the benefit of all beings.
