Spoiler warning. As usual, Lin 2 will be a separate video since there's so much to go through between Lin 1 and Lin 2. This time I'm playing the Anna Route, so there will be Lin 3 as well. Fun. Set mode, no battle items. Team choices: Weavile: I already used Weavile on my mono dark run and it was great, so there really was no doubt I would use it again. Sandslash-Alola: Arguably the most important pokémon of the entire run, its Steel typing on top of a base 120 Def provides a much needed defensive presence for an Ice team while Slush Rush makes it super fast and packing a decent punch. Ninetales-Alola: Vulpix was almost entirely useless before Serra (Abomasnow and Vanilluxe filled the Snow Warning niche better), but Aurora Veil transformed it into an essential member of the team. Nearly every battle benefitted from either hail or Aurora Veil. Beautiful shiny as well. Mamoswine: Mamoswine probably peaked well before the Elite Four, but with a Choice Scarf it was there to pick up some KOs in case Weavile or Sandslash missed an Icicle Crash at the wrong time. Cloyster: It comes very late in the game, but it is so good. Most of the late game was a Cloyster sweep, Shell Smash is just that good. Froslass: Honestly this was Vanilluxe's spot in terms of merit throughout the run, but Froslass gets Destiny Bond. Yeah. I needed it. Battles: 0:09 Heather "Pre-battle manipulation of HP might be my favourite strategy. Starting low on HP triggers the Salac Berry, enough to make Weavile outspeed Crobat. Fake Out breaks the Sash, so Crobat never gets the chance to set up Tailwind. Without it, Heather really isn't hard at all." I wrote this for my mono dark run and the same applies. 1:46 Laura & Bennett The garden is really not great when you're trying to exploit your type advantage. So, kill the flowers with acid. This battle would have been much more straight forward if I had Vanilluxe because the Whimsicott AI behaves weirdly with Ninetales, it's why I needed the Eject Button in the first place. 3:40 Elias This was the easiest Elias fight I've had so far, which makes sense with an obvious type advantage. Usually I'm afraid of Ditto, but Elias kindly got it out of the way soon, basically handing Cloyster the win. 6:23 Anna As usual, Anna is not that hard, but I insta lose if Metagross gets the +1 on Meteor Mash. It's really the only thing that can go wrong here. 8:23 Lin 1 252 EVs are still no match for Shell Smash. There's a reason Cloyster is only available before Adrienn. Lin 2 + 3 Next video :)
