Melaton - The Lamplighter

From Melaton's unfinished and unreleased album, 'Under The Lamplight' Music By - Melaton Lyrics By - Luke Slott I choose The only open road that leaves our hands loose And pushes on the way across the gold dunes Where all our silly words become our own proof To brush away the dust and keep our minds tuned On chords that follow conscience on it's way through The golden open window where I warm you I'll hold you to your word, and hold you so true And we'll learn to loosen ties and move like birds move And all the little turns that cut our world through Will slowly fall away And our minds link The little men who cross the desert sand think Of reasons why they drop off here so surely To cover up the dark and let the blind see On the only open road that keeps our hands free Where every beating moment is a lifetime And you wont come running for me to console you I'll hold you to your word, and hold you so true And we'll learn to loosen ties and move like birds move And all the little turns that cut our world through Will slowly fall away And stay with me tonight Cause my resistance is running low And see for me tonight Until my eyes can open on their own Stay with me tonight Cause my resistance is running low See for me tonight Until my eyes can open on their own Woah, woah
