You give God an hour on Sunday, and the rest of the week belongs to everything else. Your job takes your best hours, your phone takes your attention, and God gets whatever is left over. A reflection and a prayer on this Sunday's Gospel, the coin and the trap (Matthew 22:15-21). His enemies ask Jesus whether it is lawful to pay the census tax to Caesar. Jesus asks for a coin and says: whose image is this? Then repay to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God. The coin bears Caesar's image. You bear God's. Give yourself back to Him. The video goes back to the first page of the Bible, where God makes man in His own image, then to the young man who kept every rule but would not give God himself, and to Saint Thomas More, who died, in a report of his last words, the king's good servant, and God's first. It gives three questions for tonight and one thing to give God tomorrow, and ends with a prayer and a verse from Scripture. A daily reflection, with a prayer to say together. Subscribe and pray with us again. Verses: Matthew 22:15-21, Genesis 1:26-27, Mark 10:17-22, 1 John 3:2. Scripture verses are given in our own plain-English wording. #WhoseImageDoYouCarry #CatholicPrayer #PrayWithUs
