More Inclusive, More Relevant, More Symbols More Information: www.widgit.com/symbols21 For over 30 years Widgit Symbols have been used to support the learning, communication and independence of users of all ages. Our software titles are used around the world by a growing community of teachers, parents and professionals. A Community which shares ideas and inspires each other and one we take great pride in listening to. We are committed to providing this community with a symbol set that is truly inclusive to all users. Which is why we are releasing a major update to the Widgit Symbols. The 2021 update will introduce more inclusivity to the symbol set as well as new features which allow you to create more resources that better represent the world we live in. Our titles already come with features that allow you to choose different skin tones. Changes which you can apply to entire documents or individual symbols. This update will also introduce the new 'Varied Skin Tone Tool' which selects a variety of skin tones when more than one person appears in a symbol. It’s important that symbol users can recognise all symbols to aid their development. As well as addressing changes in technology and society we have reviewed all 18,000 existing Widgit Symbols, revising and replacing symbols we felt were no longer fit for purpose.
