Retro 071 & 081 on Hobs train @ Laytown Station, Co. Meath - Sunday 3rd May 2026

On Sunday the 3rd May 2026, during the May bank holiday weekend line closure, 071 class locos 071 (Retro) & 081 worked a Hobs train from Platin - Laytown Station & back to drop ballast on a newly laid section of track along the Northbound platform. This provided a rare opportunity to witness these wagons in operation, with the ballast falling from the shoots and depositing on the newly laid track. Please feel free to comment, like & subscribe.
