Emergency authorities reported around 400 damaged homes across the affected region. 🌧️ WHAT HAPPENED: The storm hit on Saturday, October 3, bringing heavy rain, strong gusts and large hail. High temperatures and abundant moisture combined with early spring instability. Paraguay’s meteorological director said El Niño may have amplified these conditions. Emergency assistance began that night, with temporary roof coverings followed by roofing materials for repairs. 📍 AFFECTED LOCATIONS Asunción, Luque, San Lorenzo, Capiatá and Fernando de la Mora, with wider storm effects across eastern Paraguay and the southeastern western region. 📊 KEY WEATHER STATISTICS • Estimated hail diameter: roughly 2–3 inches, approximately 50–70 mm; no official maximum confirmed. • Around 400 homes reported damaged. • Approximately 80% of roof tiles damaged at Fernando de la Mora’s maternal and child hospital. • 24 patients relocated at the National Cancer Institute. • 57 of 61 affected electricity distribution lines restored by Sunday morning. • 40 additional electricity repair crews deployed. ⚠️ IMPACT: Broken roofing exposed homes to further rainfall, while damaged windows and dented panels affected vehicles. Water intrusion halted X-ray services at the maternal and child hospital, and two ambulances had broken windshields. The National Cancer Institute continued treatment at reduced capacity after relocating patients. Neither facility reported injuries. Recovery continued as Monday’s forecast indicated rain and occasional thunderstorms. ▶ Watch more extreme weather videos: 🚨 Texas HIT by Massive Flash Floods 🌊 – Highway 107 Washed Out & Roads Submerged (Latest Updates):    • 🚨 Texas HIT by Massive Flash Floods 🌊 – Hi...   This video documents real-world weather and natural disaster events for educational, informational and news reporting purposes.
