Shoutouts to Electric Underground Tutorial Part 1:    • How to Shmup Vol. 1: Thinking in 3 Dimensi...   Shoutouts to Shmup Junkie Tutorial :    • How to Get Good at Shoot 'Em Ups and Make ...   00:00 - Stage 1 Start - No Lives Lost 03:28 - Stage 2 Start - No Lives Lost 08:20 - Stage 3 Start - Lost 1 Life during 14:58 - Stage 4 Start - Lost 1 Life during 21:07 - Stage 5 Start - Lost 1 Life during 28:00 - Stage 5 Boss and Final Boss Background: I'm new to Shmups and I never felt I was very good at them, always felt like it was a design language that I didn't quite understand. By watching tutorials above - over the past few months I've tried to hone my skills and take into account their advice - simply by watching their tutorials. My first 1CC was Crimzon Clover on Switch (Novice - Original) - and it came as a surprise. I was actually some what buzzed on bourbon at the time, playing with a flip grip, in my bed at the end of a long day. Somehow I cleared the game... I wasn't even going for a clear, just trying to play well. Since then I've been trying to clear it on PC so I can save and share the replay. It took me a couple more weeks to do that - this is the result of my second 1CC of this game mode. The couple early deaths in this run were quite silly, and the biggest thing I told myself was to stop being so stingy with the bombs, stop trying to be a hero, this is about survival, and scoring for extends. Having your trigger finger on the bomb button is a skill I do not have, and wanted to really build that. But there's no reason for me to make it harder for myself - let's focus on the clear. While I'm proud of this run - I still have bad habits. there's plenty mistakes here, and some mental breakdowns too haha. I think the success of this genre is to get people past the initial hump to learn how to enjoy these games by translating the language of the game and analyzing NOVICE mistakes, not pro level mistakes. To borrow from fighting games, can't teach links, combos, option selections first, have to teach basic spacing and how to deal with cheap tactics. How to defend yourself. How to build natural reflexive skills, etc. -- 1CC Playlist!:    • Aktane Shmup Clears
