Why waiting for months for one photo is okay!

How long would you wait for one photograph? A few minutes? Maybe an hour? Or a few? This one took me two months. And honestly, there was a much easier way to get it. There are apps that can tell you exactly where the sun will be, where the moon will be, when a plane will pass through the frame... you can plan almost everything. But I deliberately didn't. Because sometimes photography isn't really about getting the photograph as efficiently as possible. It's about sitting there. Waiting. Watching the light change. Watching sunsets. Doing absolutely nothing while hoping that, eventually, everything lines up. In a world where we can optimise almost everything, I think there's something strangely satisfying about doing something the slow way. Even if it takes two months for one photograph. And yes, I probably am stupid.
