IV. Sacred Rest (Create space to reflect and receive.) Music: Nearer My God to Thee Scripture: "Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy." (Exodus 20:8-11) Lyrics: Make time for thyself; relax and believe. Calmness and quiet; rest and receive. With intention, create space to reflect. Honor the present, with Divine connect. Chorus: Music: Just a Closer Walk with Thee Scripture: "Love the Lord your God with all you heart, soul, and mind. [...] and love your neighbor as yourself." (Matthew 22:36-40) Lyrics: Love the Holy One, so bright. Love thy neighbor, share your light. When love for self is truly known, hearts are open grace is shown. ______________________________________________________________________ The Ten in One grew from a week of prayer, songwriting, and reflection on Jesus' words that all the Law and the Prophets hang on the commandments to love God and love our neighbor (Matthew 22:36–40). These songs are not intended to replace the Ten Commandments, but to explore their enduring heart through the lens of the Great Commandment. Each verse is paired with a familiar public-domain hymn melody so that ancient truths and familiar music might together invite fresh reflection. May these songs encourage worship, conversation, and a life rooted in Love.
