On the next episode of the sixth season of Decentralounge, we sit down with Torab Torabi, CEO of Movement Industries, an L1 blockchain that is focused on providing stablecoin adoption, payment rails, yield and more to emerging markets around the world. Torab shares his backstory and how he eventually came to the crypto space. Beginning from traditional tech outfits such as Salesforce, Torab made the leap to Web3 by becoming the Head of BD and Partnerships at Marinade in the Solana ecosystem. Eventually, he took on the role of Head of Partnerships at Movement Labs, which led him to meeting with many of the teams that work with the ecosystem today. As Torab tells his story, Movement Labs transitioned into Movement Industries with the departure of the original founders. Considering his relationships with the builders he brought into the ecosystem, it was a natural fit for him to rise to the role of CEO. With him taking the helm, numerous changes were brought into effect, including transitioning from an L2 to a fully fledged L1 blockchain with a very specific mission: bringing stablecoins and payment rails to where they are needed most, the developing world on the global periphery. Torab shares stories about how he and the Movement team are speaking to presidents of central banks in numerous emerging markets, how their products are already having an immediate impact in countries such as Ethiopia and Afghanistan, and how doing well is helping the entire organization "do good."
